Position Overview
At Houston Methodist Academic Institute, the Research Compliance Analyst role is pivotal in delivering regulatory adherence support and educational resources to the research community across various Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) domains. Key areas of focus include:

• Collaborative Research Practices
• Authorship and Publication Ethics
• Human and Animal Research Compliance (in collaboration with relevant committees)
• Peer Review Processes
• Mentorship and Guidance
• Upholding Scientific Integrity and Reproducibility

Key Responsibilities
This position encompasses administrative support and the facilitation of RCR training initiatives for faculty, staff, and trainees. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting research personnel with software tools for evaluating research outcomes.
• Collaborating with RCR team members to uphold the highest ethical standards in research design, execution, and reporting.
• Supporting routine assessments of RCR implementation and quality enhancement initiatives across the research framework.
• Aiding in the review of laboratory or clinical data and managing conflicts of interest at both individual and institutional levels.

Advisory Role
The Research Compliance Analyst will work closely with Research Integrity and Compliance leadership, providing insights and guidance on:

• Interpretation of regulations and compliance matters.
• Institutional processes related to Responsible Conduct of Research.

Educational Initiatives
• Organizing and conducting RCR educational workshops for individuals engaged in research, including faculty, staff, and trainees.
• Offering ongoing consultation and guidance to research teams and departments.
• Communicating with regulatory committees to ensure adherence to RCR requirements.Quality and Safety Functions
• Continuously evaluating processes to enhance efficiency and compliance in research facilitation.
• Participating in administrative processes supporting RCR training and Conflict of Interest reviews.
• Conducting thorough regulatory reviews to ensure completeness and accuracy of RCR plans.Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of three years of relevant experience.
• Proficient in English, with strong communication skills to engage effectively with research teams.
• Demonstrated project management capabilities and the ability to work independently.Travel Requirements
• May involve travel within the Houston Metropolitan area and beyond.
