The Associate will work closely with the Senior Analyst and will be engaged in various facets of the Oil & Gas sector, including financial modeling, report preparation, and contributing to unique research insights. This position demands precision, meticulous attention to detail, and strong analytical capabilities. Proficiency in writing, financial modeling, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential. Previous experience in equity research, investment banking, public accounting, consulting, or the Oil & Gas sector is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Idea Generation: Collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines while maintaining strong organizational skills and a client-focused approach.
  • Analytical Thinking: Work with extensive data sets using Excel/Access, demonstrating the ability to independently source and analyze information.
  • Communication Skills: Exhibit exceptional writing abilities, particularly in conveying complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Bloomberg and/or FactSet is beneficial, alongside advanced Excel skills including macros, pivot tables, and statistical analysis techniques.
  • Excel Mastery: Utilize advanced Excel functions to create complex formulas, integrate visual data representations, and apply basic programming skills.
Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of experience in sell-side research (preferably within an Energy/Oil & Gas team), buy-side, investment banking, public accounting, consulting, or relevant industry experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited institution, with a focus in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or Statistics preferred.
  • MBA, CPA, or CFA credentials are advantageous.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial modeling, including the construction and maintenance of comprehensive 3-statement models.
  • Possession of Series 7, 63, 86 & 87 licenses is preferred, or the expectation to obtain them within the first year of employment.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • A genuine interest in the stock market and a passion for developing industry insights, particularly in the Refiners subsector.
  • A willingness to thrive in a dynamic work environment, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable with extended work hours, including weekends as necessary.
  • Demonstrated academic excellence with a minimum GPA of 3.5.

The compensation for this position is competitive, with a base salary range of $90,000 to $110,000, determined by non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and location. Additionally, we provide an annual discretionary incentive bonus and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as life, accident, and disability insurance. Our paid time off policy encompasses vacation, sick leave, paid holidays, and parental leave.
