Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the Battery Manufacturing Engineering team, ensuring seamless operations in battery production.
  • Provide engineering support for daily production tasks, focusing on optimizing Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) to enhance productivity and minimize defects.
  • Utilize production data to effectively manage engineering tasks and activities.
  • Exhibit strong troubleshooting abilities to swiftly resolve production challenges.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to coordinate both reactive and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Work with engineering and maintenance teams to develop sustainable solutions for recurring manufacturing issues.
  • Implement and expand new solutions into production lines to improve efficiency.
  • Monitor and audit manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with product specifications and standards.
  • Apply technical knowledge to create clear work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and troubleshooting guides.
  • Support the implementation of industrial automation in manufacturing processes.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

  • To maintain a safe working environment, wearing PPE may be necessary, which could include items such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, and other protective gear.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • High School diploma or GED
    • B.S./M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field

Essential Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated exceptional ability in engineering responsibilities.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on engineering functions.
  • Able to work flexible production shift schedules.
  • Capable of training manufacturing operators on new or updated processes.
  • Adaptable to working in both manufacturing and office settings.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting machinery and processes, applying root cause analysis.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD, mechanical drawings, and process diagrams.
  • Experience in designing fixtures and jigs.
  • Ability to enhance equipment maintainability.
  • Possess skills in process development, data analysis, and tolerancing.
  • Capable of identifying critical process parameters and knowledgeable in failure analysis techniques.
  • Excellent teamwork skills, particularly in collaborating with production staff to develop effective solutions.
  • Self-motivated with a strong ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality results and customer service.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with control strategies, PLCs, and sensor relationships.
  • Background in industrial data analysis or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing settings.
  • Familiarity with machine shops and fabrication processes.
  • Experience in coordinating with contractors.
  • Knowledge of six sigma methodologies.

Physical Demands:

  • Physical activities required during the workday include sitting, walking, standing, and lifting.
