Role Summary:
PENA is leading the charge in battery technology, and we need dedicated engineers to support our mission. As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you will engage in optimizing our state-of-the-art production processes, ensuring the highest quality and efficiency in battery manufacturing.

Core Duties:

  • Contribute to the Battery Manufacturing Engineering team, ensuring seamless production operations.
  • Provide engineering support for daily production activities, focusing on enhancing Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE).
  • Utilize production data to manage tasks effectively and drive improvements.
  • Exhibit strong troubleshooting abilities to resolve production challenges promptly.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to coordinate both reactive and preventative maintenance efforts.
  • Develop and implement permanent solutions to recurring manufacturing issues.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes to uphold product specifications and quality standards.
  • Create clear work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and troubleshooting guides.
  • Support the integration of industrial automation within manufacturing processes.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
To maintain a safe working environment, PPE may be required, including items such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, and more.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • B.S./M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field

Essential Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception to completion.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on engineering functions.
  • Flexibility to work on production shifts.
  • Capability to train operators on new manufacturing processes.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD, mechanical drawings, and process documentation.
  • Ability to identify critical process parameters and implement improvements.
  • Strong teamwork skills, particularly in collaborating with production staff.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with control systems, PLCs, and industrial data analysis.
  • Background in high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of six sigma methodologies is advantageous.

Physical Demands:
Physical activities required during the workday include sitting, walking, standing, and lifting.
