Position Overview:

Explorers Federal Credit Union is in search of a detail-oriented, analytical, and sales-driven professional to become a vital part of our commercial credit division as a Senior Credit Officer.

This role will report directly to the Senior Credit Officer and will involve close collaboration with the Line of Business within our Specialty Finance Services. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of credit analysis, commercial underwriting practices, and corporate governance.

Key responsibilities include overseeing credit underwriting processes, managing portfolio performance, and ensuring credit quality. The Senior Credit Officer will supervise Portfolio Managers and transaction processors who assist with daily portfolio management.


Core Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the underwriting of new commercial client relationships.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence to ensure appropriate credit structures are established and monitored for both new and existing credits.
  • Manage daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual portfolio reporting; prepare and present updates to management and the Board.
  • Develop, assess, and maintain various credit policies and procedures, providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Undertake special projects as assigned by management.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, while adhering to internal compliance policies.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred) with a minimum GPA of 3.0. A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial lending or specialty finance is preferred.

Essential skills include:

  • Advanced credit analysis capabilities (formal credit training is preferred).
  • Proficient knowledge of financial statement analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of leadership and staff.
  • Capability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing demands.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and email.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Compensation:

Competitive salary based on experience, starting at $90,000.
