Position Overview:

Explorers Federal Credit Union is in search of a detail-oriented, analytical, and sales-driven professional to become a part of our commercial credit division as a Senior Lending Officer.

This role reports directly to the Senior Credit Officer and entails close collaboration with the Line of Business within our Specialty Finance Service sector.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of credit evaluation, commercial underwriting practices, and corporate governance. This position includes direct oversight of credit underwriting, portfolio management, and ensuring credit quality.

Key responsibilities include supervising the credit underwriting process, managing portfolio reports, and ensuring compliance with established policies and regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the underwriting of new commercial client relationships.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence and ensure appropriate credit structures are established and monitored for both new and existing credits.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual portfolio reports to management.
  • Develop, assess, and update various credit policies and procedures, providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Engage in special projects as assigned by management.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, maintaining compliance with internal policies.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (a Master's degree is preferred) with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Experience of 5+ years in commercial lending or specialty finance is preferred.

Candidates must demonstrate advanced credit analysis skills, preferably with formal credit training.

Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Successful candidates will exhibit solid problem-solving abilities, strong organizational skills, and the capacity to work independently while managing multiple projects.

Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and email is required, along with the ability to travel up to 20%.

Competitive salary based on experience, starting at $90,000.
