Human Resources Specialist

Salary: Starting at $60,000, commensurate with experience
Position Overview:
The Human Resources Generalist plays a crucial role in supporting the operations within New York State. This position is responsible for various HR functions, including but not limited to investigations, documentation, reporting, and labor relations management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all Workday transactions related to New York State operations, including terminations, promotions, and status changes.
- Prepare monthly and ad hoc reports on employee demographics for HR and operational leadership.
- Assist HR Managers with union-specific requirements, including regular reporting and grievance preparation, and participate in Labor Management meetings as necessary.
- Maintain both electronic and physical employee records.
- Respond to requests for employment verification and legal inquiries regarding employee information.
- Track and report on field sponsorship and educational programs.
- Oversee the processing of sign-on bonuses and stipends.
- Support CAAS accreditation and Department of Health inspections.
- Collaborate with Operations and HR managers to facilitate the annual performance and merit review process.
- Participate in investigations related to employee issues in conjunction with Operations leadership.
- Serve as the primary contact for employees regarding leave management applications.
- Support the local and corporate recruiting teams by maintaining and updating the HR New Employee Orientation presentation.
- Assist HR Managers with the Corporate Required Annual Training process, including tracking and reporting.
- Travel regularly to various operations within New York State as required.
- Ensure compliance with all employment laws and support affirmative action and equal opportunity initiatives.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Comply with all information systems policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
- A minimum of one year of experience in Human Resources or a related field is required.
- Experience working with a unionized workforce is preferred.
- Experience in the healthcare sector is advantageous.
