Overview:
The Rehabilitation Specialist is responsible for organizing and implementing medically prescribed rehabilitation programs aimed at restoring functionality.

This role focuses on preventing disabilities following illness or injury, while assisting patients in achieving their highest potential and adapting to their individual capabilities.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnostic Assessment: Conducts both basic and advanced diagnostic evaluations in Physical Therapy to address mobility disorders and related issues.
  • Education: Instructs and mentors graduate Physical Therapy students and clinical fellows. Contributes to innovative initiatives to improve patient care and serves as a resource for other healthcare professionals in the specialty.
  • Care Evaluation: Reviews diagnostic and therapeutic testing results to set patient objectives and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Communicates vital information to ensure continuity of care.
  • Implementation: Selects and employs contemporary and advanced methodologies to deliver effective rehabilitative services. Organizes care based on patient and family needs.
  • Community Engagement: Acts as a resource for health professionals and government departments, participates in local health screenings, and presents at community events.

    Contributes to the development of new clinical programs to address emerging community health needs.

  • Participation: Enhances clinical service quality through active involvement in departmental meetings and training sessions.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintains accurate and reliable records of patient procedures and progress. Engages in quality improvement initiatives alongside clinical specialists and other healthcare professionals.

Additional Information:
Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program is required.

Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy is necessary.

Completion of a supervised clinical internship is essential.

A current license to practice as a Physical Therapist in North Carolina is mandatory.
