Avenue Mori Medical Equipment, Inc. is looking for a committed Customer Service Representative to manage all aspects of patient information intake related to durable medical equipment and respiratory products. This role involves effective communication with patients, colleagues, and referral sources to ensure high-quality patient services and facilitate third-party reimbursements.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Update respiratory grids and maintain referral logs.
  • Review and finalize previous day's routes, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Complete Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Certificates of Medical Necessity (CMNs), documenting all actions on tracking logs.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures to meet industry standards.
  • Coordinate patient information and prepare documentation for the billing department, including batch reports for deliveries.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of current products, services, and relevant regulations.
  • Manage all aspects of patient intake, including phone inquiries and fax communications.
  • Monitor and manage office supplies effectively.
  • Prepare accurate files for the billing department.
  • Handle weekly deposit preparations.
  • Generate invoices and tickets for daily routes.
  • Process paperwork, confirming tickets and setting up new patient files.
  • Assist with retail and walk-in equipment requests.
  • Provide technical support to customers.
  • Verify insurance coverage details.
  • Collaborate with external agencies to resolve customer inquiries.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Position Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience in the medical field and administrative record management is preferred.
  • Strong background in customer service.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Polite and knowledgeable demeanor with a positive attitude.
  • Able to interpret various instructions across different communication mediums.
  • Familiarity with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and Home Medical Equipment (HME).
  • Understanding of insurance policies and medical billing practices.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
  • Requires sitting, walking, and standing for extended periods.
  • Close vision required for computer work and paperwork.

Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in email communication and internet navigation.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with office equipment such as fax machines and printers.
