FUNCTION:

Responsible for the receipt, storage, and distribution of equipment, materials, supplies, or tools, while maintaining accurate stock records within the stockroom.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Processes incoming products; packages items; inputs part details into the inventory management system; inspects stock to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Retrieves items for staff at the stockroom service point.
  • Prepares orders and assembles kits for various departments.
  • Engages in regular inventory counts.
  • Oversees stockroom organization by maintaining precise inventory counts; documents and alerts relevant personnel when stock levels are low; manually records shortages and ensures replenishment.
  • Organizes items in storage areas, whether in bins, on the floor, or on shelves, based on identifying details such as style, size, or material type.
  • Handles incoming phone inquiries.
  • Assists the shipping department with documentation at the end of the month.
  • Generates work orders for different departments.
  • Monitors the location of cores that are out for service and tracks their return.
  • Supports production planning for repair, refurbishment, and exchange components.
  • Initiates rework orders for specific components.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED; and one to three years of prior stockroom experience; or a combination of training and experience that is equivalent.

SKILLS:

  • Proficient in basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Capable of calculating discounts, interest, and percentages.
  • Effective verbal communication skills for one-on-one interactions with management and colleagues, including the ability to articulate simple sentences and listen attentively.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret both simple and complex instructions, work orders, and technical documents. Competent in understanding blueprints and specifications, as well as writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Demonstrates common sense understanding to execute instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Capable of addressing problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized scenarios.
  • To excel in this role, an individual should be adept at using departmental software and equipment, including but not limited to Microsoft Office applications, Syteline, hand trucks, and pallet jacks.
  • Ability to interact positively and professionally, fostering strong working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, vendors, and customers.
  • Exhibits strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Demonstrates reliability by following instructions, responding to supervisory guidance, and taking ownership of actions.
  • Shows initiative by seeking assistance and offering help when necessary; capable of working independently without prompting.
  • Effectively prioritizes and organizes work tasks; utilizes time efficiently; and adheres to deadlines.

The work environment is typically well-lit, heated, and/or air-conditioned, with adequate ventilation. The noise level in the work environment is generally quiet.
