FUNCTION:
Responsible for the receipt, storage, and distribution of equipment, materials, supplies, or tools, while maintaining accurate stock records within the warehouse environment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receives incoming products; packages items; inputs part details into the inventory management system; inspects stock to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Retrieves items for personnel at the warehouse service counter.
- Processes orders and assembles kits for various departments.
- Engages in periodic inventory counts.
- Maintains the warehouse by accurately tracking inventory levels; documents and alerts relevant personnel when stock is low; manually records shortages and ensures replenishment.
- Organizes items in bins, on the floor, or on shelves based on identifying characteristics such as style, size, or type of material.
- Handles incoming phone inquiries.
- Assists the shipping department with end-of-month documentation.
- Generates work orders for different departments.
- Monitors the location of cores that are out for service and tracks their return.
- Supports production planning for refurbishment, rewinding, and exchange components.
- Creates rework orders for specific components.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED; with one to three years of prior experience in a warehouse or stockroom setting; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
SKILLS:
- Proficient in basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Capable of calculating discounts, interest, and percentages.
- Effective verbal communication skills for one-on-one interactions with management and colleagues, including the ability to articulate simple sentences, listen attentively, and seek clarification when necessary.
- Adept at reading, analyzing, and interpreting both simple and complex instructions, work orders, and technical documentation. Competent in understanding blueprints and specifications, as well as composing routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to apply common sense to execute instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Capable of addressing issues involving multiple concrete variables in standardized scenarios. Ability to perform repetitive cognitive tasks.
- To excel in this role, an individual should be proficient in using department-specific software and equipment, including but not limited to Microsoft Office applications, Syteline, hand trucks, and pallet jacks.
- Ability to engage positively and professionally, fostering strong working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, vendors, and customers.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
- Demonstrates reliability by following instructions, responding to supervisory guidance, and taking accountability for personal actions.
- Exhibits initiative by seeking assistance when needed and performing tasks independently without prompting.
- Skilled in prioritizing and organizing work activities; effectively managing time and adhering to deadlines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be capable of performing the following with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Regularly required to sit; occasionally required to walk, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and stretch or twist to reach. Frequently required to lift and/or carry up to 35 pounds; occasionally lift and/or carry up to 75 pounds; and rarely required to push or pull up to 100 pounds.
The work environment is typically well-lit, climate-controlled, and adequately ventilated. The noise level in the workplace is generally quiet.
