i3 Assembly is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for owning the tactical execution of our supply strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Supply Chain Management: Analyze the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to procure the correct materials to meet production dates.
- Purchasing and Logistics: Issue, manage, and maintain purchasing documents as directed by the MPS or non-production requisitions.
- Cost and Inventory Management: Ensure cost, schedule, and inventory accountability for production and non-production materials.
- Supplier Performance Management: Monitor supplier performance and provide regular feedback to the Director of Supply Chain and Quality.
- Delivery Issue Resolution: Review all delivery issues and take appropriate action to prevent schedule interruptions.
- Expedite and Escalation: Expedite and escalate as required to meet a dynamic production schedule.
- Supplier Quality Management: Work closely with Supplier Quality to disposition non-conforming material within prescribed timelines.
- Business Unit Interface: Interface with all business units to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Supplier Development: Develop and qualify new suppliers in conjunction with Engineering.
- Cost Savings and Negotiation: Work to meet cost-saving goals set by Management and negotiate with suppliers for the most competitive overall cost of the product.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a Buyer in a manufacturing environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience with assemblies, components, and metal fabrication.
- Skills: Detail-oriented, able to multitask, and think outside the box. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, negotiation skills, organizational skills, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word. Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Education: BS in Business or other technical discipline.
- Soft Skills: Ability to work well across all levels of the organization, strong technical background.
- Work Environment: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasionally prolonged periods of standing. Must be able to walk for prolonged periods. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. at times. Must be able to travel to suppliers.
