Job Overview
The Coating Specialist role involves various preparation tasks related to painting, with a primary focus on the application of masking and taping techniques on product components before the finishing stage. This position is structured to cultivate the essential skills required to become a skilled manufacturing painter.
Key Responsibilities
- Applying tape and protective materials to components
- Removing masking from finished parts
- Inserting plugs into metal components
- Sanding down any surface imperfections
- Learning both powder and liquid painting methods under guidance
- Conducting quality assessments of painted items
- Managing inventory of masking supplies
Essential Skills
- Hard Skills: Masking and taping, de-masking, sanding, quality inspections, inventory management
- Soft Skills: Attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, effective time management, physical stamina
Job Type
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a total duration of 800 hours.
Work Environment
This role is situated in a manufacturing environment where exposure to heavy machinery and equipment is common. The position requires standing for prolonged periods, sometimes up to six hours daily, and the ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds. Some tasks may necessitate brief periods of sitting.
