The St. James Hotel is seeking a skilled Guest Service Representative to provide exceptional customer service and create memorable experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guest Check-In/Check-Out: Process guest arrivals and departures, verify billing, and create reservations.
  • Phone and Email Support: Answer guest calls, respond to emails, and provide information on hotel services and amenities.
  • Sales and Revenue Growth: Upsell rooms and amenities to maximize revenue and drive sales.
  • Knowledge and Awareness: Stay up-to-date on hotel property, local attractions, and hotel services hours of operation.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Work collaboratively with other departments to meet guest needs and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Emergency Procedures: Be knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures and respond accordingly.
  • Financial Management: Verify Room Cards and balance Room Folios, process Day Closing activities, and distribute Daily Reports.
  • Security and Compliance: Perform Security walk-throughs, lock and unlock outside doors, and process Gift Cards.
  • Record Keeping: Compile records and reports as needed.
Requirements:
  • Education: One-year Hospitality certificate from college or technical school and three to six months related experience/training.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of hotel front desk experience and experience with a Property Management System.
  • Skills: Ability to work a flexible schedule, add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and possess strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Language: Ideally, but not required, bi-lingual or multi-lingual.
