Position Summary:

We are in search of a skilled and committed Banquet Shift Manager to oversee the orchestration and management of banquet services. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supervising banquet staff, including servers and bartenders, ensuring that all events are executed flawlessly while delivering outstanding guest experiences and achieving total satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and guide the activities of banquet staff, including servers and bartenders.
  • Enhance staff performance through effective communication, coaching, and regular evaluations.
  • Implement policies and procedures, offering training and development opportunities.
  • Act as the department leader in the absence of the manager, representing the hotel to clients and vendors.
  • Address and resolve service-related issues to uphold high standards of guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure all banquet areas are maintained in a clean and organized manner according to established schedules.
  • Utilize Point of Sale, Sales & Catering, and Inventory Management systems for operational efficiency.
  • Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Adhere to Health Code regulations to guarantee safe handling of food and beverages.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
Qualifications:

A minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution, coupled with 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience in a high-end banquet and conference setting, or a comparable combination of education and experience.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet applications.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization abilities.
  • Capability to follow instructions in various formats.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior supervisory experience in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with Point of Sale, Inventory Management, and Sales & Catering systems.
