The Taxation Operations Manager position is accountable for supervising personnel, managing client engagements, and executing projects while ensuring exceptional service delivery. Key responsibilities encompass aiding in the oversight of office functions and team dynamics, client service initiatives, quality assurance, financial reporting, revenue forecasting, and collaborating with senior leadership to enhance performance metrics, including revenue generation and staff development. This role involves mentoring, guiding, and supporting team members to meet both client and personal growth objectives. Furthermore, the individual will be tasked with adhering to and enforcing all organizational policies and procedures.

Leadership and Supervisory Responsibilities :

-Deliver effective and respectful leadership to team members through strategic staffing management; conducting interviews, onboarding, and training; setting performance expectations and providing constructive feedback (on a semi-annual basis), recognizing achievements, coaching, and managing disciplinary actions; creating opportunities for career advancement and development plans for associates.

-Assess the skills and capabilities of team members and review their work products while providing ongoing coaching throughout the process.

Organizational Commitment:

-Influence colleagues and subordinates positively, reflecting the core values of the organization.

-Demonstrate interest and contribute to the firm's ongoing initiatives.

-Understand how individual strengths contribute to team dynamics and organizational success.

-Proactively identify and communicate budgetary concerns, pinpoint opportunities to enhance assignment profitability, and assist with billing and collections processes.

Client Engagement:

-Act as the primary Tax client service coordinator for designated clients.

-Provide comprehensive advice on a wide range of corporate tax services, including strategic planning, research, compliance, and general business operations.

-Manage client requirements concerning tax services and compliance with federal and state tax regulations.

Business Development Initiatives:

-Promote the firm to clients, business partners, and through community engagement activities.

-Understand the various service lines and, when appropriate, discuss potential opportunities with client management for valuable introductions to other firm services.

-Stay informed about potential opportunities for new clients and additional services for existing clients, communicating these to management.

-Identify the need for and propose additional service offerings to clients.

Technical Proficiency:

-Prepare and review tax returns.

-Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of tax returns.

-Navigate multiple complex issues while communicating in an accessible manner to facilitate understanding between clients and the service team, while managing risk for both parties.

-Review research findings to ensure compliance with firm policies and professional standards.

-Assist in business development efforts, extended service offerings, and recognizing tax issues for current clients.

-Stay updated on evolving tax practices and legislative changes.

Required Experience:

-In-depth knowledge of U.S. accounting standards (cash, tax, and accrual basis).

-Strong accounting and financial reporting skills.

-Proficient in the software applications and technology utilized by the firm.

-General understanding of FASB and IRC regulations.

-A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is required.
