Position Summary

The Supplier Relationship Manager is tasked with overseeing the interactions and contract management of vendors delivering waste hauling, disposal, and recycling services. This role involves assessing service quality, resolving pricing and service conflicts, and maintaining regular communication with vendors to ensure a safe and efficient operation under the guidance of the Director of Procurement. The position will lead efforts in establishing a robust national network of suppliers for all necessary services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage vendor partnerships and address service-related issues, including billing and rebate discrepancies
  • Maintain relationships and assess the quality of services provided by suppliers to meet our standards and expectations
  • Ensure vendor information, documentation, and systems are up-to-date
  • Collaborate with Operations, Finance, and other management teams to guarantee successful service delivery
  • Monitor vendor performance against contractual service level agreements and facilitate issue resolution
  • Develop and track metrics to evaluate vendor performance
  • Understand vendor and client needs and the Procurement Department's role in exceeding client expectations
  • Gain knowledge of the company's operational and business applications, including Operations, Customer Service, Accounting, and Vendor Relations, and how they contribute to the overall strategy
  • Ensure that vendors maintain current Certificates of Insurance (COI)
  • Keep accurate documentation, contracts, eTrac updates, and reports of all procurement-related activities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in procurement preferred
  • Experience in vendor management and third-party performance oversight
  • Proficient in developing bidding documents and conducting Request for Proposal (RFP) processes
  • Experience managing regional and national programs
  • Strong negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with adaptability, a strong sense of urgency, accountability, and a results-driven mindset
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with basic contracting documents
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and summarize findings into comprehensive reports
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
