DM Enterprises is actively seeking a skilled Civil Construction Quality Inspector with a strong background in evaluating structural and civil engineering projects, including bridges, roadways, and paving. This role is essential for supporting our construction management and inspection services for various transportation projects associated with government agencies.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct daily site evaluations to ensure adherence to approved designs, specifications, and regulations, while maintaining comprehensive project documentation and testing reports.
  • Create daily construction logs detailing all activities and project advancements utilizing client software tools.
  • Identify construction issues and implement standard techniques and procedures to address them effectively.
  • Assess and review contractor schedules and payment requests, providing recommendations to project supervisors or construction managers.
  • Act as the Owner's representative concerning the construction process.
  • Monitor and manage the quality of work being performed.
  • Review work progress to ensure alignment with the construction timeline.
  • Evaluate contractor-issued change orders and claims, offering recommendations to project supervisors or construction managers.
  • Interpret contractor submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), change order requests, and as-built drawings.
  • Communicate site conditions and conflicts/changes to project supervisors or construction managers.
  • Collaborate with clients and contractors while following guidance from project supervisors, construction managers, or designated representatives.
  • Maintain detailed records of contractor performance and progress.
  • Oversee and track the technical submittal, shop drawing review, and RFI processes.
  • Ensure the proper implementation of temporary maintenance of traffic (MOT) and lane closure protocols.
  • Assist project supervisors or construction managers in compiling data for monthly reports.
  • Develop a construction punch list.
  • Work closely with team members and personnel from local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Adapt to project-specific schedules that may extend beyond standard work hours.
  • Provide constructive feedback to subcontractors and colleagues to ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and accurately according to specifications.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company resources and conduct, adhering to DM Enterprises' policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as required by business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in inspecting bridges, roadways, paving, and concrete work.
  • Experience in structural steel inspection and other material inspections, including pipes, valves, and reinforced concrete elements.
  • Experience in concrete and soil testing.
  • Knowledge of ASTM, ACI, and other construction testing standards, along with familiarity in inspection procedures and methodologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret project plans, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of construction inspection principles, field practices, processes, and techniques.
  • Familiarity with relevant construction codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
  • Knowledge of road safety and traffic control management.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team to achieve business objectives.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and adherence to DM Enterprises' health, safety, and harassment policies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Technical degree in construction management or a related technical field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in field inspection across structural, civil, and mechanical disciplines on transportation projects.

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Temporary Traffic Control Manager Certification.
  • ACI Concrete Field-Testing Certification.
  • Erosion & Sedimentation Control Certification (SHA Yellow Card) is desirable.
