Ideal Candidate Profile

This is an exciting opportunity for a significant role where you will experience a high degree of autonomy and variety. As the Project Engineer, you will take full ownership of your projects from initial concept through to prototype and production. Our status as a contract manufacturer means our clients frequently challenge us to explore new materials and processes, making this position ideal for a self-motivated individual eager to grow within a dynamic company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with clients to gather requirements and develop project estimates
  • Collaborate on designs with clients and manufacturing teams at Composite Resources
  • Lead cross-departmental project planning and design review sessions
  • Create CAD models and technical drawings necessary for parts and tooling
  • Develop production support documentation, including ply kits and lamination guidelines
  • Specify required materials and generate Bills of Materials (BOM)
  • Establish and maintain project timelines
  • Monitor and manage project costs
  • Provide manufacturing support as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or related fields)
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in composite design and manufacturing, with a preference for aerospace experience
  • Proven project management skills, including scoping, scheduling, and effective communication
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Self-driven with strong personal workload management capabilities
  • Successful track record of managing multiple projects, including scheduling and scoping
  • Experience in mold design, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), fixturing, and development of work instructions
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in SolidWorks or similar solid and surface modeling software
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, workflows, and ISO/AS environments
