Position Summary

The Composite Technician plays a crucial role in the production process, specializing in the hand lay-up of composite materials and executing vacuum bagging techniques. This position also involves meticulous hand-finishing tasks to ensure the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute hand lay-up processes for various composite materials, including Wet and Prepreg.
  • Implement vacuum bagging techniques and procedures effectively.
  • Apply knowledge of resin systems such as Epoxy, Polyester, Vinyl ester, and Silicones.
  • Conduct hand-finishing operations on molds and patterns with precision.
  • Utilize a range of hand tools for cutting, grinding, fitting, and assembly tasks.
  • Perform adhesive bonding applications with attention to detail.
  • Assemble structures, ensuring proper setup, bonding, and fastener applications.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy while working with tight tolerances.
  • Conduct self-quality checks to uphold production standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with composite materials (e.g., Carbon Fiber, Kevlar, Fiberglass).
  • 3-5 years experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to interpret and enhance work instructions (SOPs).
  • Proficient in measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
  • Demonstrated hands-on fabrication skills.
  • Experience with a variety of hand tools for assembly and finishing tasks.
  • Knowledge of adhesive bonding processes.
  • Experience in assembling structures with a focus on setup and bonding.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.

Work Schedule

Standard hours are Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Compensation

Salary range is between $17 - $33.80 per hour.
