Role Summary

The Composite Technician plays a crucial role in the fabrication of composite materials, employing techniques such as hand lay-up and vacuum bagging. This position demands precision and a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all components meet stringent quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute hand lay-up processes for various composite materials, including Wet and Prepreg systems.
  • Implement vacuum bagging techniques and adhere to established procedures.
  • Apply knowledge of different resin systems, such as Epoxy, Polyester, Vinyl ester, and Silicones.
  • Conduct hand-finishing operations on molds and patterns to achieve desired specifications.
  • Utilize an array of hand tools for cutting, grinding, fitting, and assembly tasks.
  • Perform adhesive bonding applications with precision.
  • Assemble structures, ensuring proper setup, bonding, and fastener application.
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail while working with tight tolerances.
  • Conduct self-quality checks to ensure adherence to quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with composite materials (e.g., Carbon Fiber, Kevlar, Fiberglass).
  • 3-5 years of experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to interpret and improve upon work instructions (SOPs).
  • Proficient in measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and indicators.
  • Demonstrated hands-on fabrication skills.
  • Experience with a variety of hand tools for cutting, grinding, fitting, and assembly.
  • Familiarity with adhesive bonding processes.
  • Experience in assembling structures, including setup and bonding.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.

Work Schedule

Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Compensation

Salary range is $17 - $33.80 per hour.
