Position Title: Project Engineer - Commercial

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and oversee onsite construction engineering activities for commercial projects. Manage business correspondence, billing, and financial reporting.
  • Provide technical assistance for construction initiatives, including involvement in construction planning. Aid in design interpretation, application of construction techniques, resolution of design conflicts, and conduct constructability reviews.
  • Develop, implement, and manage project procedures and other documentation to support overall construction efforts.
  • Collaborate with all onsite departments to address issues, ensure construction quality, maintain project safety, and support the overall project timeline.
  • Anticipate workflow needs, coordinate with superintendents regarding material delivery, and adhere to project schedules.
  • Develop, monitor, and negotiate proposals and change orders for contract modifications with clients and subcontractors.
  • Maintain an accurate project schedule by performing regular updates and identifying potential scheduling conflicts.
  • Conduct business correspondence and manage billing and financial reporting.

Working Environment: This role involves a construction setting with travel requirements. Candidates must be able to crawl, climb, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, kneel, crouch, stand for extended periods, lift over 50 lbs, communicate effectively, and occasionally sit. The role may require working in confined spaces and at heights, under varying weather conditions.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Project Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience: 1-2 years of experience in the construction sector is required. A four-year degree in engineering or construction management is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent client relations, and organizational abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

While the salary range typically falls between $49,100 - $73,600 annually, applicants are encouraged to share their compensation expectations during the application process. Caddell values prior experience, education, and qualifications to extend competitive offers.
