Position Summary
The Regional Sales Consultant plays a crucial role in enhancing our market presence by fostering relationships with both existing and prospective clients. Reporting to the Area Sales Manager or Regional Sales Manager, this position is pivotal in achieving sales objectives and ensuring our diverse beer portfolio is represented with integrity and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a designated sales route, engaging with approximately 50-55 retail locations weekly.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities by focusing on strategic areas within the assigned territory.
- Introduce and promote our extensive range of beers, brands, and packaging options to potential accounts.
- Ensure effective execution of marketing initiatives by distributor teams.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key distribution partners and decision-makers in retail settings.
- Uphold company standards and quality assurance across on-premise and off-premise channels.
- Achieve targeted sales volumes and distribution goals as outlined in regional plans.
- Organize and implement in-store promotions, beer tastings, and special events as required.
- Oversee the execution of all marketing strategies within retail accounts.
- Conduct audits for pricing surveys to track shelf price points for our portfolio.
- Establish new connections with target accounts through effective sales techniques.
- Communicate regularly with management to address and resolve issues promptly.
- Engage in continuous learning about our beer brands, local market dynamics, and industry trends.
- Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and events relevant to the craft beer sector.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- 1-3 years of sales experience in the food or beverage sector, particularly in craft beer sales.
- Proven ability to manage complex sales processes and initiatives with strong customer service skills.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with a focus on clarity and effectiveness.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for achieving results.
- Cicerone Certified Beer Server certification or higher is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Willingness to travel as necessary, including weekends, to foster customer relationships.
- Must possess a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements
This role requires regular physical activity, including the ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds. Employees may be exposed to various environmental conditions, including outdoor weather and noise.
