Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at Coastal Family Health Center. As a Patient Service Representative, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service to our patients, ensuring a positive experience from the moment they walk through our doors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide professional and courteous service to patients, responding to their inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Electronic Patient Registration: Accurately and efficiently register patients, updating their demographic and insurance information as needed.
  • Patient Scheduling: Schedule appointments for patients, ensuring that they are seen by the appropriate healthcare provider in a timely manner.
  • Revenue Control: Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for services, ensuring that all revenue is accurately captured.
  • Support to Clinical Staff: Provide administrative support to our clinical staff, ensuring that they have the necessary information and resources to provide high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Basic Computer Knowledge: Possess basic computer skills, including proficiency in electronic medical records systems.
  • Medical Office Procedures: Have knowledge of medical office procedures and practices, including HIPAA guidelines.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with patients, providers, and staff.
  • Time Management: Be able to manage time effectively, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Independence: Be able to work independently, making decisions and taking initiative as needed.
Qualifications/Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with medical experience preferred but not required.
  • Basic Computer Knowledge: Possess basic computer skills, including proficiency in electronic medical records systems.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with patients, providers, and staff.

  • English Language Proficiency: Possess competent oral and written English language skills.
  • Bilingual Ability: Possess bilingual ability, with Spanish preferred but not required.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Accuracy: Accurately record and input data, ensuring that all information is up-to-date and accurate.
