Job Title: Sales Associate

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team at Star Step Richards Paint. As a Sales Associate, you will play a key role in supporting the sales efforts of our company-owned store, engaged in selling paint, sundries, equipment, and related lines of merchandise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Customers: Assist customers in person and over the phone by determining their needs and presenting appropriate products and services.
  • Process Sales Transactions: Ensure that sales transactions are completed accurately, maintaining precise work order files and formulas, pulling appropriate products from the sales floor, and tinting and mixing them to customer specifications.
  • Order Stock: Assist in ordering stock as assigned.
  • Drive Sales and Traffic: Take a proactive role in increasing the sales and traffic flow of the store.
  • Store Operations: Be responsible for opening and closing the store, stocking shelves and setting up displays, cleaning store equipment, and loading and unloading trucks.
  • Delivery Services: Drive van or truck to deliver items such as paint and paint-related products to customers' places of business.
  • Maintenance and Safety: Maintain the interior and exterior of Company vehicles, as well as maintenance and mileage logs.
Requirements:
  • Age: 18 years or older.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license.
  • Color Vision: Ability to distinguish the difference between colors.
  • Computer and Communication Skills: Ability to operate a computer and communicate via the telephone, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (occasionally 70 lbs.) and retrieve materials from shelves and floor stacks, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

  • Standing and Walking: Regularly required to stand and walk.
  • Reaching and Talking: Frequently required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • Crouching and Kneeling: Frequently required to stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Lifting and Moving: Frequently required to lift and/or move 65+ pounds regularly.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Related Experience: One to three months related experience and/or training.
  • Equivalent Combination: Equivalent combination of education and experience.
