Position Summary:
The Plant Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for strategizing, organizing, and overseeing the maintenance operations within the facility. This role encompasses the management of engineering, planning, mechanical and electrical teams, technicians, and inventory control, all aimed at enhancing equipment reliability and availability.


Key Responsibilities:
As the head of the Maintenance Department, the Supervisor will:

  • Lead the formulation of the maintenance budget and oversee its effective execution.
  • Drive the integration and enhancement of the company's maintenance management system.
  • Provide direction to maintenance engineers, planners, and inventory personnel.
  • Develop strategies to minimize equipment failures and enhance maintenance scheduling.
  • Establish metrics and reporting systems to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure the facility is maintained safely and meets equipment availability standards.
  • Conduct regular assessments of maintenance staff performance and identify training needs.
  • Collaborate closely with production management to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Investigate and analyze the root causes of mechanical and electrical downtimes.
  • Communicate performance metrics and improvement initiatives across all maintenance levels.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to maintenance and operational processes.

Preventive Maintenance Leadership:
The Supervisor will also:

  • Develop comprehensive job plans for maintenance tasks, including labor, materials, and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain preventive maintenance work orders.
  • Manage the workflow process from identification to execution and auditing of maintenance tasks.
  • Oversee the backlog of work orders and ensure timely completion.
  • Analyze performance indicators and take corrective actions as necessary.

Career Development:
This role includes managing the professional growth and training of the maintenance team by:

  • Ensuring technicians are up-to-date with technological advancements.
  • Facilitating required certifications and licenses for all maintenance staff.
  • Assessing technician skill sets against operational needs and addressing any gaps.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred, with a high school diploma as a minimum requirement.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance management role within a continuous operation environment.
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting is advantageous.
