Job Summary

The City of Reno is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor II to lead our public works maintenance team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of various city facilities and structures, including streets, signs, sewers, and storm drains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a team of maintenance staff in the performance of various maintenance and repair tasks
  • Plan, train, and review the work of lower-level maintenance staff to ensure high-quality results
  • Operate a variety of maintenance and repair equipment, including saws, hammers, shovels, light trucks, and related equipment
  • Verify the work of assigned employees for accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and specifications
  • Perform a variety of maintenance duties, including street repairs, sewer maintenance, and snow removal
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of tools, parts, and supplies, and requisition materials as needed
  • Respond to public inquiries and provide information within the area of assignment
Requirements
  • Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade
  • Three (3) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of streets, sewers, and storm drains, or related public works facilities and structures, including two (2) years at a level comparable to a Maintenance Worker I
  • Possession of a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, flagger certification
