Unmanned Aircraft Systems Educator - Adjunct Faculty

Department: Aeronautics and Transportation
Division: Technology & Health
Compensation: $93 per instructional hour

Overview:
This is a temporary, part-time position without permanent status.

This recruitment is for a continuous applicant pool to fill part-time, temporary instructional roles as needed. Departments will refer to this pool to fill assignments as required. Candidates will be contacted for interviews if selected.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver college-level courses in aeronautics, focusing on both introductory and advanced unmanned aircraft systems (drones).
  2. Support the educational success of a diverse student body through effective teaching methods.
  3. Stay updated on advancements in aviation and educational practices.
  4. Engage in curriculum development and assessment of learning outcomes.
  5. Complete additional duties as assigned, ensuring compliance with institutional responsibilities.
  6. Collaborate with faculty and staff to design and implement related programs.
  7. Hold office hours, manage documentation, and respond to communications promptly.
  8. Be available for assignments during evenings, weekends, and late afternoons.


Minimum Qualifications:
A. One of the following from a regionally accredited institution:
  1. A Bachelor's degree with two years of relevant professional experience; OR
  2. An Associate's degree with six years of relevant professional experience; OR
  3. An equivalent qualification (equivalency review required); OR
  4. A valid California Community College credential for instruction in the relevant discipline.


AND

B. A commitment to the community college mission of providing quality educational programs for a diverse student population, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Licenses & Other Requirements:
Periodic travel to various locations may be required. A valid California driver's license is necessary if operating a vehicle.
