Job Summary

The Patient Access Representative is a key member of the Emergency Department team at Saint Mary's Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England. This role is responsible for ensuring seamless patient registration and admission processes in the ED.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately register patients in the Emergency Department, verifying insurance requirements and understanding benefits.
  • Secure signatures and key information needed for billing and collection functions.
  • Collect or arrange for co-insurance and/or other deposit payment amounts.
  • Refer self-pay patients to financial counselors and answer patient questions.
  • Maintain a customer-friendly environment between Saint Mary's Hospital and patients, visitors, and physicians upon initial contact.
Requirements
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, with college preferred.
  • Medical terminology skills.
  • Relevant medical office, hospital, or physicians' billing or patient registration experience preferred.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
