Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Department Coordinator to join our team at Trinity Health Of New England. As a key member of our Emergency Medical Services team, you will be responsible for administering, managing, and directing the operation of our EMS program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective marketing and growth strategies for our EMS program.
  • Manage and direct the operation of our EMS program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the EMS program, ensuring they are up-to-date and aligned with hospital and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise and mentor assigned professional EMS staff to ensure the quality of work and adherence to hospital policies.
  • Represent the hospital on activities involving EMS and pre-hospital care, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement quality and risk management programs to ensure the highest level of patient care and safety.
  • Manage the ACLS and PALS certification program for all Saint Mary's Hospital physicians, nurses, physician assistants, and paramedics who are required to maintain certification.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved paramedic program, with EMS instructor certification preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of paramedic-level pre-hospital patient care experience, with a minimum of 5 years of EMS administration, education, quality assurance, and emergency pre-hospital care experience.
  • Valid Licensed Connecticut paramedic within six months of employment.
  • Administrative, analytical, educational, excellent interpersonal communications, and public relations skills.
