Position Overview:

As a Surgical Technician, you will play a vital role in the operating room environment, working closely with surgeons and registered nurses to ensure smooth surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the surgical team by preparing and organizing sterile setups of instruments, equipment, and supplies.
  • Provide support during operations by passing instruments and materials to surgeons and nurses as required.
  • Prepare and transport patients while ensuring the sterilization and cleanliness of instruments and surgical areas.
  • Scrub in on a variety of surgical cases, including but not limited to orthopedic, spinal, urological, and general surgeries.
  • Participate in room turnover and restocking for upcoming surgical cases.
  • Maintain a sterile field throughout procedures and anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
  • Update and manage preference cards for surgical instruments.

Work Environment:
With 8 operating rooms and additional procedure spaces, you will be part of a dynamic team handling numerous cases each month. The schedule is designed for 36 hours per week with variable shifts based on surgical volume and unit requirements. Call duties are expected, with a rotation of approximately 4-6 shifts every six weeks.

Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and education. Benefits commence on the first day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with options for HSA, FSA, and DCFSA accounts. Employees will also have access to a 401k retirement plan with employer matching and paid time off as mandated by law.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a surgical setting is preferred.
  • Experience in specialized surgical fields is advantageous.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program is preferred.
  • Current registration as a Surgical Technician is required unless performing functions under another verified license.
