Overview:

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing kitchen staff, procurement, production, and presentation of food in a safe and sanitary work environment. This role has a salary range of $100,000 - $105,000 per year.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Kitchen Operations: Direct the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including outlets, banquets, stewarding, and purchasing.
  • Lead Human Resources: Manage Human Resources in the kitchen, including attracting, retaining, and motivating associates. This includes interviewing, hiring, training, developing, empowering, coaching, and counseling associates.
  • Plan and Manage Food Production: Plan and manage the procurement, production, preparation, and presentation of all food in the hotel in a safe, sanitary, cost-effective manner.
  • Maintain a Safe Work Environment: Monitor and control the maintenance and sanitation of the kitchen, equipment, and related areas to ensure a healthy and safe work environment that meets or exceeds federal, state, corporate, and franchise standards and regulations.
  • Manage Department Budget: Develop, implement, and manage the department's budget, analyzing, forecasting, monitoring, and controlling labor and food costs to meet or exceed management and budget objectives.
  • Develop Menus: Develop and implement menus and back-up systems within corporate guidelines to improve revenues and profit margins while maintaining quality.
  • Accident Prevention: Execute and promote the Accident Prevention Program to minimize liabilities and related expenses.
  • Attendance and Availability: Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Other Duties: Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Two+ years of post-high school education, with culinary education being desirable.
  • Experience: Five+ years of employment in a related position.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession, including experiential knowledge required for management of people and/or complex problems and food and beverage management.
  • Leadership Skills: Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff and to ensure accomplishment of goals.
  • Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
