Position Overview

The Project Scheduling Specialist is responsible for developing and sustaining the project timeline and various baselines in alignment with Clayco's protocols, client specifications, and ongoing assessments of the network logic. This role demands a thorough integration of cost and resource allocations, ensuring adherence to Clayco metrics and general conditions across all project timelines. Generating reports and managing cash flows will be pivotal aspects of this position. All employees at Clayco are expected to uphold our ethical standards and safeguard the company's resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regularly update the status of ongoing schedules, gathering essential data from diverse sources, including Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors. All collected data must receive Project Manager approval before being incorporated into the schedule.
  • Maintain Project Schedule Baselines in accordance with Clayco's policies and any additional stipulations from client contracts.
  • Generate periodic Performance Reports tailored to the project, alongside standard Clayco reports such as the Critical Activities Report, Baseline Deviation Report, Earned Value Performance Index Report, and Project Cash Flow Report.
  • Implement cost and resource loading on schedules, ensuring compliance with Clayco Metrics Resource Set for project personnel and General Conditions. Updating actual costs and resources may be necessary during progress updates.
  • Conduct ongoing analysis and validation of network logic to ensure alignment with project objectives and adherence to Clayco's guidelines. This includes eliminating unnecessary dependencies that could lead to inaccuracies in calculating total float and criticality.
  • Assist in the preparation of Monthly Schedule Reporting, contributing to the drafting of the Monthly Schedule Narrative.
  • Develop schedules from inception for both proposals and construction projects, emphasizing teamwork in the creation of these schedules.

Qualifications

  • A four-year degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is mandatory.
  • 1-5+ years of demonstrated experience in scheduling.
  • At least 1 year of proficiency with Primavera P-6 scheduling management software.
  • Experience in Project Management within a general contracting environment is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Outlook, with a commitment to ongoing skill enhancement.
  • Familiarity with BIM and its relevance to scheduling and sequencing is advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong listening abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Consistently high-quality work output.
  • Self-motivated, diligent, and a collaborative team player.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the capacity to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Physical capability to navigate job sites, including climbing ladders and multi-floor scaffolding.
  • Able to lift objects weighing at least 30 lbs.
