Overview of the Position

The Project Scheduling Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining the project timeline and various baselines in alignment with Clayco's standards, client specifications, and ongoing assessments of the network logic. This role also involves cost and resource allocation, ensuring that all project schedules incorporate Clayco metrics and general conditions, making report generation and cash flow management essential components of the position. All employees are expected to uphold the company's ethical standards and safeguard its resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regularly update in-progress schedules by gathering necessary data from various stakeholders, including Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors. All data must receive Project Manager approval before being integrated into the schedule.
  • Maintain Project Schedule Baselines in accordance with Clayco's policies and any additional stipulations outlined in client contracts.
  • Generate periodic Performance Reports specific to the project, as well as standard Clayco reports, such as Critical Activities Report, Baseline Deviation Report, Earned Value Performance Index Report, and Project Cash Flow Report.
  • Implement cost and resource loading for all Clayco projects, utilizing the Clayco Metrics Resource Set for project personnel and General Conditions. Updating actual costs and resources may be necessary during periodic progress updates.
  • Conduct ongoing analysis and validation of network logic to ensure compliance with project team intentions and adherence to Clayco's guidelines. This includes eliminating unnecessary dependencies that could lead to inaccuracies in total float and criticality calculations.
  • Assist in the preparation of Monthly Schedule Reporting, contributing to the drafting of the Monthly Schedule Narrative.
  • Develop comprehensive schedules from inception for both proposals and construction projects, emphasizing teamwork in the development process.

Qualifications

  • A four-year degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required.
  • 1-5+ years of demonstrated scheduling experience.
  • At least 1 year of proficiency with Primavera P-6 scheduling management software.
  • Experience in Project Management with a general contractor is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Outlook, with a commitment to continuous skill enhancement.
  • Familiarity with BIM and its application in scheduling and sequencing is advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong listening abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • High-quality work output with efficiency.
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, and a collaborative team player.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the capability to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Physical capability to navigate job sites, including climbing ladders and multi-floor scaffolding.
  • Able to lift objects weighing at least 30 lbs.
