Overview of the Position

The Project Scheduling Specialist is responsible for developing and sustaining the project timeline while adhering to Clayco's standards, client specifications, and continuous assessment of the network logic. This role necessitates the integration of cost and resource allocation, ensuring that all reporting and cash flow management are integral components of the position. All employees at Clayco are expected to uphold our ethical standards and safeguard the company's resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regular Schedule Updates: Collect and analyze essential data for updating project timelines. The Scheduler will gather update information from various stakeholders, including Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors, ensuring all data is sanctioned by the Project Manager before being integrated into the schedule.
  • Baseline Maintenance: Uphold Project Schedule Baselines in line with Clayco's policies and any additional stipulations outlined in client contracts.
  • Performance Reporting: Generate specific Performance Reports for projects as well as standard Clayco reports, such as Critical Activities Report, Baseline Deviation Report, Earned Value Performance Index Report, and Project Cash Flow Report.
  • Cost and Resource Management: Implement cost and resource loading on all Clayco projects, including the necessary Clayco Metrics Resource Set for project personnel and General Conditions. Updating actual costs and resources may be required as part of regular progress updates.
  • Network Logic Evaluation: Conduct ongoing assessments of network logic to ensure compliance with project objectives and adherence to Clayco's guidelines. This includes the elimination of unnecessary dependencies that could affect calculations of total float and criticality.
  • Monthly Reporting Assistance: Aid in the preparation of required project reports, including contributing to the Monthly Schedule Narrative.
  • Schedule Creation: Develop project schedules from inception for both proposals and construction endeavors, emphasizing teamwork in the development process.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is essential.
  • 1-5+ years of demonstrated experience in scheduling.
  • At least 1 year of familiarity with Primavera P-6 scheduling software.
  • Project Management experience with a general contractor is preferred.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Outlook, with a commitment to ongoing skill enhancement.
  • Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its relevance to scheduling and sequencing is advantageous.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent listening abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • High-quality work output.
  • Self-motivated, diligent, and a collaborative team player.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the capacity to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Physical capability to navigate job sites, including climbing ladders and multi-floor scaffolding.
