Position Overview
The Project Scheduling Specialist is responsible for the development and upkeep of project timelines and various baselines in alignment with Clayco's standards, client expectations, and ongoing assessments of the project network logic. This role necessitates cost and resource allocation in accordance with Clayco metrics and general conditions, making report generation and cash flow analysis essential components of the position. All employees are expected to uphold the company's ethical standards and safeguard its resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Regular Schedule Updates: Conduct periodic updates on active schedules, gathering all necessary data for revisions. The Scheduler will collect update information from diverse sources, including Project Managers, Superintendents, Owner Representatives, and subcontractors, ensuring all data is sanctioned by the Project Manager before being integrated into the schedule.
- Baseline Maintenance: Ensure Project Schedule Baselines are maintained in accordance with Clayco's policies and any additional stipulations from client contracts.
- Performance Reporting: Generate specific project Performance Reports alongside Clayco Standard reports, such as Critical Activities Reports, Baseline Deviation Reports, Earned Value Performance Index Reports, and Project Cash Flow Reports.
- Cost and Resource Management: Implement cost and resource loading on all Clayco projects, including the Clayco Metrics Resource Set for project personnel and General Conditions. Updating actual costs and resources may be necessary as part of the regular progress update process.
- Network Logic Evaluation: Perform continuous analysis of network logic to ensure compliance with project team intentions and adherence to Clayco Standard Guidelines. This includes the removal of unnecessary dependencies that could lead to inaccuracies in total float and criticality calculations.
- Monthly Reporting Assistance: Aid in the preparation of required reports for the project, including contributing to the Monthly Schedule Narrative draft.
- Schedule Development: Collaborate on the creation of schedules from inception for both proposals and construction projects, ensuring a team-oriented approach.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is mandatory.
- 1-5+ years of demonstrated scheduling experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of proficiency with Primavera P-6 scheduling software.
- Experience in project management within a general contracting environment is preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Outlook, with a commitment to ongoing skill enhancement.
- Familiarity with BIM and its relevance to scheduling and sequencing is advantageous.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong listening abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- High-quality work ethic and efficiency.
- Self-motivated, diligent, and a collaborative team player.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team framework.
- Physical capability to navigate job sites, including climbing ladders and multi-floor scaffolding.
- Ability to lift items weighing at least 30 lbs.
