Revenue Collection Specialist

The John Wood Community College is looking for a detail-oriented Revenue Collection Specialist to manage student accounts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellent customer service. This role is crucial in managing billing, payment processing, and collections while collaborating with internal departments to support student success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily operations of student accounts area, including student receivables, third-party-billings, preparation of student refunds, and posting of staff tuition waivers per Board policy.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies regarding student financial accounts.
  • Develop and implement effective collection procedures and collaborate with external agencies as necessary.
  • Maintain compliance with various state, federal regulations, and board policies, and prepare filing of IRS 1098T tuition statement forms.
  • Administer student scholarships received from external sources.
  • Supervise, train, evaluate, set goals, and provide guidance for accounts receivable staff on student accounts procedures and policies.
  • Collaborate with Financial Aid, Admissions, and other departments to ensure seamless communication and support for students.
  • Prepare and analyze reports related to student accounts, revenue, and receivables, such as Month End Reporting and Monthly Account Reconciliations of Receivables.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and enhance the student experience.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Management or a related field is required, relevant experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts receivable and collection experience or business experience with knowledge of collection methods and procedures, preferably in higher education.
