Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Educational Support Specialist to join our team at Quincy Public Schools. As an integral part of our special education department, you will provide essential support to students with moderate to severe disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder.

About the Role

In this rewarding role, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to implement instructional activities, assist students individually or in groups, and develop strategies to promote student progress. Your expertise in behavior management and de-escalation techniques will be invaluable in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.

As an Educational Support Specialist, you will also participate in professional development opportunities, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to creating a positive school culture. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students with various needs, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, in a public day school setting.
  • Implement instructional activities under teacher supervision and assist students individually or in groups with tailored strategies and techniques.
  • Develop and implement Behavior Support Plans and utilize de-escalation skills to create a safe learning environment.
  • Assist with daily routines and services, including monitoring student progress and collecting data.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • High school diploma and assessment knowledge related to Paraprofessionals.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience working with children, especially those with special needs.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
