Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Vault Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the vault in alignment with Empyreal Logistics' objectives, client expectations, and compliance standards. This role emphasizes the importance of both the results achieved and the methods employed to achieve them. The position is situated within a cash processing facility, allowing for concentrated focus on operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Fosters positive communication within a collaborative work environment through various channels including in-person, telephonic, written, and digital means.
  • Provides effective oversight of teller staff on a daily basis.
  • Manages the flow of all incoming and outgoing currency, including employee scheduling, priority setting, task assignment, workflow control, and problem resolution.
  • Ensures compliance with Federal Reserve Deposit standards and accuracy of documentation.
  • Supervises the daily reconciliation of vaults and maintains established cash limits.
  • Oversees the daily reconciliation processes of each teller.
  • Monitors teller performance and offers constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Assists team members in identifying cash discrepancies and addressing complex issues.
  • Investigates and resolves variances and operational challenges, reporting findings to relevant management.
  • Ensures the team operates effectively and delivers high-quality results.
  • Reviews employee timecards and addresses attendance matters directly with staff.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of operational processes and procedures.
  • Ensures adherence to all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements among staff.
  • Facilitates training and cross-training initiatives for employees.
  • Addresses performance-related issues and provides coaching and disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Conducts performance evaluations and makes recommendations regarding employee status changes.
  • Maintains accurate vault records and completes necessary audits and reports.
  • May travel as needed to assist with new location setups, employee training, and other assignments.
  • Embodies and promotes the company's vision, values, and desired culture.
  • Fills in for tellers and other staff as required.
  • Performs additional duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Ability to work 50 to 55 hours per week as necessary.
  • Familiarity with banking software and systems.
  • College education or military experience is preferred.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and management capabilities are essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required.
  • A positive attitude and teamwork orientation are essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail and observational skills are necessary.
  • Strong recall and retention abilities are needed.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to perform under pressure dictated by schedules and project timelines.
  • Capability to read, comprehend, and interpret written and verbal instructions and reports.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional travel within the district.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Mobility to accomplish tasks.
  • Ability to reach overhead and at or below shoulder level.
  • Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Near and far visual acuity.
  • Ability to use stairs.
  • Effective communication skills for information exchange.
