Eversource Energy is seeking a Technical Training Supervisor to oversee the development and execution of technical training initiatives. This role is crucial for ensuring the proficient and safe operation of Electric Operations, Gas Operations, and Meter Technical teams. The training encompasses both theoretical classroom instruction and practical on-the-job training, utilizing a blend of conceptual and hands-on teaching methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary technical resource and mentor for fellow supervisors.
• Guide and develop other supervisors in various aspects of their responsibilities.
• Manage resource allocation in cases of conflicting priorities.
• Foster innovation and improvements in operational processes.
• Lead work center activities in the absence of management.
• Represent management at departmental, customer, and community engagements.

  • Collaborate with field personnel and supervisors to assess job tasks and current performance to identify training requirements and program content.
  • Effectively implement training programs and field quality audit initiatives.
  • Supervise and instruct trainees during classroom sessions, hands-on activities, and on-the-job training.
  • Evaluate trainee performance and provide follow-up through field visits and refresher training.
  • Update training programs with new procedures and revisions, working with vendors, technical experts, and engineers to incorporate operational insights into new equipment selection and construction standards.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

Technical Knowledge:
  • In-depth understanding of utility transmission and distribution system design, operations, maintenance, and construction practices, along with safety standards and business protocols.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of presenting theories and concepts, as well as delivering hands-on technical instruction with clarity and enthusiasm.
  • Proven leadership and coaching capabilities.
  • Proficient in using PC applications (e.g., Microsoft Word & Excel).
  • Familiarity with labor agreements.
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
  • A minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in Transmission, Distribution, and/or Field Service design, customer service, and employee supervision.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Eversource Energy offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $115,870-$128,740, plus incentives. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Licenses & Certifications:
  • Massachusetts Driver's License, D.O.T. preferred.
Working Conditions:
  • Availability for emergency restoration assignments as needed.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
Mental Aspects:
  • This role involves analyzing, planning, organizing, evaluating, and documenting. It requires managing multiple simultaneous activities under time constraints while maintaining significant business commitments and managing diverse interpersonal interactions in a training environment.
