Aquatics Specialist Job Description

At Westminster Canterbury of Richmond, we're seeking a highly skilled Aquatics Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our wellness program, you'll be responsible for coordinating aquatic programs and maintaining the pool facility, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for our residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate aquatic programs, including lifeguarding and instruction
  • Maintain the pool facility, including safety equipment and chemical feeders
  • Work with staff to develop special programs and events related to wellness
  • Utilize preventative lifeguarding skills to ensure a safe environment
  • Assist with land-based wellness programming as needed
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguard training certification
  • Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA) certification or equivalent
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification
  • Previous experience working with elderly populations
  • At least one year of experience in aquatic exercise and pool maintenance
