AQUATIC SAFETY OFFICER

Job Overview: The Aquatic Safety Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining the safety and well-being of all individuals utilizing aquatic facilities by proactively preventing and addressing emergencies in the water.

Location: Various aquatic facilities across the Commonwealth

Supervisor: Designated Aquatic Coordinator

Compensation: Competitive hourly wage based on experience

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise the activities of aquatic facility users to ensure a secure swimming environment Enforce all safety regulations and operational protocols Maintain open communication with patrons and staff in a courteous manner Identify emergencies and execute appropriate responses Conduct daily inspections of the facility and report any hazardous conditions Ensure cleanliness of the pool area throughout the day Punctually attend all scheduled shifts; arrange for coverage if unable to work Exhibit flexibility in work hours and provide accurate availability Work collaboratively at multiple aquatic locations Monitor and assess water quality Record attendance of pool users and class participants Complete Risk Management documentation promptly Fulfill assigned cleaning responsibilities Participate in monthly training sessions and mandatory meetings Collaborate effectively with fellow lifeguards and facility personnel Undertake additional tasks as directed by the Aquatic Safety Coordinator Required Skills and Qualifications:
Proficient in recognizing and responding to emergencies with appropriate techniques Strong customer service and interpersonal communication abilities Capable of making swift decisions in high-pressure situations Ability to adhere to instructions and complete assignments punctually Demonstrates maturity and professionalism Required Certifications:
Valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer & First Aid certifications American Red Cross Administering Emergency Oxygen certification (to be obtained within the first month of employment)
