Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Generalist to join our team at Horizon House in Seattle. This multifaceted role involves a wide range of responsibilities, including talent acquisition, benefits administration, employee relations, leave management, and compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.

About the Role:
  • Provide exceptional customer service experience by greeting and welcoming staff, and delivering an efficient and friendly HR advisory service that aligns with our company values.
  • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Responsible for full cycle recruitment, including sourcing, job advertisements, scheduling, interviews, screening, reference/background checks, offer letters, onboarding, and new hire training.
  • Employee & Labor Relations: Apply in-depth knowledge of company policies and procedures, union contract, and governing regulations to support employee relations matters; provide employee relations support to staff in an effort to resolve workplace issues in a timely fashion.
  • Benefits/Total Rewards: Administer and maintain employee benefits/perks programs, group benefit databases, and employee records to capture benefits enrollments, COBRA notifications, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability claims, retirement rollovers/distributions/loans, and more.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (degree in Human Resources or related degree preferred)
  • 4 years' progressive Human Resources experience, with 2 years' direct experience in employee relations, benefits administration, and leave management
  • Active PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP Certification, or pursuing certification within one - two years (preferred)
  • Proficient in speaking Amharic, Tigrinya, Filipino, or Tagalog is a plus, but not required
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and practices; Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, OneDrive, etc.)
Compensation:

The estimated salary for this position is $39,475 per year, based on the title, job description, and location.
