Position Summary

The Academic Liaison will play a crucial role in ensuring that the vision, expectations, and outcomes of the After School Program (ASP) are in harmony with the school day, particularly focusing on the academic aspects of the ASP. This position requires the ability to support the ASP in aligning with any Behavioral Response to Intervention (RTI) and/or Culture and Climate initiatives occurring during school hours. The Academic Liaison will utilize student-level data to guide the planning and execution of the after-school academic components. Furthermore, the Academic Liaison will collaborate with the ASP Site Coordinator and Principal to ensure effective communication and best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure alignment of academic programs with school day objectives.
  • Support behavior and culture initiatives within the school environment.
  • Analyze student data to inform program planning and execution.
  • Facilitate communication between ASP staff and school administration.
Qualifications
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Current employment as a credentialed or approved non-credentialed staff member at the school.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong organizational and collaborative abilities.
  • Clear understanding of school goals and priorities.
  • Experience in implementing systemic strategies.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within an educational setting.
  • Motivated to provide quality after-school opportunities for youth.
  • Comfortable leading academic support and enrichment activities.
  • Availability for a specified number of hours during after-school program hours.
  • Willingness to participate in evaluations and supervision meetings.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification approved by YMCA.
  • Successful completion of a fingerprint background check.
  • Clearance of TB Test.
Preferred Skills
  • Bilingual abilities in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, or other languages are a plus.
