Overview:

The Hiring Advisors is in search of a strategic and proactive Divisional Vice President of Finance. This role is crucial for the revitalization and growth of the division, providing essential financial insights and fiscal analysis to support the Division President. The position encompasses strategic business planning, feasibility assessments for land acquisitions, and the management of accounting and budgeting processes within the division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with Division Presidents to refine annual plans, delivering strategic financial insights, forecasting, and budget evaluations. Utilize a data-driven approach to enhance decision-making.
  • Direct the formulation of both short-term and long-term financial strategies to effectively support divisional operations.
  • Design, implement, and oversee financial management programs to ensure successful divisional planning and profitability.
  • Provide leadership and vision to all finance team members, fostering a supportive environment.
  • Manage the reporting strategy for the division's financial activities to corporate leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial and accounting policies within the division, including budgeting, capital expenditures, conflict of interest, revenue recognition, and expense management.
  • Establish and maintain predictive analytics for ongoing forecasting, delivering valuable insights to the Division President and corporate executives.
  • Develop financial and business planning methodologies, collaborating with corporate executives and division leaders to create business plans and budgets.
  • Work alongside the Division President, land team, and corporate staff to define business criteria and guide potential land transactions and acquisitions.
  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team, offering guidance, coaching, and mentorship to cultivate talent while promoting a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations on financial opportunities that facilitate business growth.
  • Analyze divisional costs and budgets to pinpoint operational efficiencies, driving process improvements across financial operations in collaboration with internal and external audit teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in finance or accounting leadership roles, preferably within the Real Estate sector, particularly in homebuilding. Early career experience in investment banking or real estate private equity is a plus.
  • Ability to function effectively in an individual contributor capacity.
  • Familiarity with financial software such as Hyperion Planning, OneStream, and JD Edwards (GL) is preferred.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Strong ethical principles and the capacity to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive financial information.
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and financial modeling capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including complex modeling, pivot tables, and intricate formulas.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with executive leadership, senior management, colleagues, and external advisors. Experience with Power BI is highly valued.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
