Position Summary:

The Technician will operate under the guidance of a designated supervisor within a specific field. Depending on their expertise, the individual will assess, choose, and implement standard applicable methods. This role may encompass various tasks related to procurement, quality assurance, project management, surveying, and construction oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the assigned supervisor in multiple facets of designated projects.
  • Utilize standard techniques to make minor adjustments and modifications as necessary.
  • Carry out additional job-related tasks as required.

Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) along with specialized training or relevant college coursework, and a minimum of eleven (11) years of experience, or a comparable combination of education and experience sufficient to effectively perform the essential duties of the position.

Licensing Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid Driver's License in accordance with state regulations.

Essential Skills:

  • Comprehensive understanding of policies and procedures related to project execution.

Physical Demands:

  • Capability to walk up to one mile on industrial and construction sites in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to wear protective gear that may increase body temperature for short durations.
  • Proficient in using multi-level stair towers and ladders independently.
  • Ability to hear safety alarms while utilizing hearing protection.
  • Capacity to sit at a desk and operate a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and communicate effectively.
  • Visual acuity to distinguish colors and perform tasks requiring detailed sight.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Regularly lift and carry 15 lbs., with occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.

Job Requirements:

ELECTRICAL and INSTRUMENTATION (E&I) QUALITY INSPECTOR

Experience Required:

A minimum of 10 years of experience in the gas and oil sector, specifically in instrumentation and electrical construction, installation, and maintenance. Previous experience in a quality assurance role is advantageous.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing support as an Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) quality inspector within the Engineering Services department. The candidate will act as a quality control and technical support resource for capital projects, including new installations, upgrades, and compliance evaluations.
  • Effectively communicate any deficiencies to the Project Manager and collaborate with Discipline Engineers and Craft Supervision to facilitate necessary corrective actions.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have Experience In:

  • Field instrumentation for process measurement (e.g., Pressure, Temperature, Level, and Flow) and control systems.
  • Basic understanding of piping systems, signal transmission, and communication hardware.
  • Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and fire protection systems.
  • Instrumentation wiring, power supply, and distribution systems.
  • Interpreting ISA and API symbols and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
  • Electrical equipment including transformers and protective relays.
  • Understanding of NFPA 70 (NEC) and NFPA 70E standards.
  • Monitoring electrical installations for compliance and quality workmanship.
  • Reading and understanding electrical diagrams and schematics.
  • Conducting inspections and providing documentation of field activities.
  • Reviewing technical drawings and submittals.
  • Participating in startup and commissioning processes.
  • Developing and managing quality plans for E&I equipment.
