Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Technician III will operate under the guidance of a designated supervisor, utilizing their expertise to assess, select, and implement standard techniques relevant to their discipline. This role may encompass various responsibilities, including purchasing, project management, quality assurance, and construction oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the supervisor in multiple facets of assigned projects.
  • Utilize standard techniques to make necessary modifications and adaptations.
  • Perform additional job-related tasks as required.

Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) is required, complemented by specialized training or college coursework, alongside a minimum of eleven (11) years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to fulfill the essential duties of the position.

Licensing:

  • Possession of a valid Driver's License in accordance with state regulations.

Essential Skills:

  • Comprehensive understanding of policies and procedures related to project execution.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to traverse industrial plant and construction sites, potentially covering distances of up to one mile in various weather conditions.
  • Capability to wear protective gear that may increase body temperature for short durations.
  • Proficiency in navigating multi-level stair towers and ladders independently.
  • Ability to hear safety alarms while using hearing protection.
  • Capacity to operate a computer for extended periods.
  • Physical agility to perform tasks such as standing, gripping, reaching, climbing, and communicating effectively.
  • Visual acuity to distinguish colors and operate a motor vehicle safely.
  • Regular lifting of up to 15 lbs, with occasional requirements to lift up to 25 lbs.

Specific Role Requirements:

Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Quality Inspector

Experience:

A minimum of 10 years in the gas and oil sector, focusing on instrumentation and electrical construction, installation, and maintenance. Previous experience in a quality assurance capacity is advantageous.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing quality inspection support for Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) projects within the Engineering Services department.
  • Acting as a quality control liaison for capital projects, ensuring compliance during installations and commissioning phases.
  • Collaborating with Project Managers and Engineers to address deficiencies and implement corrective measures.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Expertise in field instrumentation for process measurement and control systems.
  • Understanding of piping systems, signal transmission, and safety requirements for field devices.
  • Familiarity with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and electrical distribution equipment.
  • Ability to interpret technical diagrams and observe compliance with industry standards.
  • Experience in conducting inspections and documenting findings throughout project lifecycles.
