Job Summary:

As an Exercise Specialist II at Baptist Memorial Healthcare Corporation, you will play a vital role in leading, teaching, and managing others in the provision of exercise program planning, supervision, and counseling for individuals with or at risk for cardiovascular disease.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Development: Develop and implement exercise programs tailored to meet the unique needs of clients, ensuring a safe and efficient exercise environment.
  • Client Supervision: Provide direction and supervision to clients during exercise sessions, ensuring their safety and progress.
  • Education and Training: Meet the educational needs of clients and the community through workshops, seminars, and other educational programs.
  • Team Collaboration: Contribute to the development of staff and students, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete assigned administrative and accounting duties, ensuring seamless program operation.
  • Program Enhancement: Assist in the development and enhancement of exercise programs, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
  • Professional Development: Maintain knowledge of fitness assessment techniques, acceptable fitness levels, and exercise prescription, ensuring expertise in the field.
Requirements:
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Rehabilitation, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience and progressive operational experience in a fitness-related position is required; 5 years of experience is preferred.
  • Licensure and Certification: BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred.
  • Skills: Intermediate computer literacy skills are preferred; basic computer skills are required.
