POSITION: Patient Account Representative II
OVERVIEW: The Patient Account Representative II is accountable for the precise and prompt management of patient accounts concerning billing, collections, and reimbursement services for the Regional Medical Center of Memphis, adhering to established standards, policies, and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct a specified number of collection calls daily, ensuring quality standards are met to achieve the necessary completion rate.
- Exhibit accountability by safeguarding that data and codes remain unchanged on claims before submission.
- Collect all essential information required for processing patient claims effectively.
- Meet daily productivity benchmarks, ensuring that billing and re-billing files are completed to fulfill the required completion rate.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma or equivalent with relevant coursework is required. Additional post-secondary education is preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in billing, collections, payment verification, and reimbursement processes for both government and commercial insurance is essential. Familiarity with general hospital accounts receivable is necessary.
Consideration may be given to candidates with college education, prior insurance claims experience, or healthcare billing experience in lieu of direct hospital experience.
