In this role, you will be an essential member of a driven team in a dynamic setting where high achievers are recognized and rewarded. The Operational Finance team serves as a pathway for leadership roles within the Finance and Accounting division. As an Operational Finance Analyst, you will interact with various levels of leadership, including our executive team. Your role will involve acting as a financial liaison, merging accounting functions with operational support for our business.

Additionally, you will provide project-level assistance to our project teams, including Project Managers, Field Superintendents, and the Project Controls team, among others. This position offers the chance to engage in department-wide and company-wide initiatives, leveraging your business acumen and technical expertise to analyze and resolve complex challenges, ultimately driving value for our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate financial data and key performance indicators across the Company, divisions, and locations to deliver insightful analysis to leadership.
  • Examine contracts, interpret financial implications, ensure correct application of revenue recognition, apply engineering and construction accounting standards, and assess risks on the largest and most complex projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering and construction project teams to support project financials and forecasting.
  • Implement processes and tasks that contribute to timely and accurate month-end close and financial reporting.
  • Assist in client-initiated audits, project-specific financial audits, and the annual financial audit for the Company.
  • Participate in both formal and informal training sessions for project managers and division management.
  • Support special initiatives focused on innovation and process enhancement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of relevant accounting experience; additional credit may be awarded for public accounting experience.
  • One year of extra credit for CPA or MBA.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be a self-starter, detail-oriented, well-organized, and possess strong client service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Preferred (but not required):
  • Experience in accounting for contracts within the construction/engineering sector, particularly with percentage of completion revenue recognition.
  • Familiarity with Oracle and Microsoft Power BI.
  • CPA certification.
